Mittens sewing instructions and pattern

The mittens are available in two sizes, S and M. We recommend sewing the mittens from merino wool.

1. Cut all pieces in mirror images from double fabric. If you want lined mittens, cut four pieces of each palm piece. If you are making simple mittens, you can make the mittens entirely with an overlocker machine. We recommend using a sewing machine to sew lined mittens, except for the cuff and palm seams.

2. Sew/stitch the thumb area of the lower part of the palm to the upper part of the palm.

3. Seam/stitch the back of the palm to the combined palm piece.

4. Sew the vertical seam of the cuff together with right sides together and turn the cuff twice right side out.

5. Sew the cuff to the palm.

6. Turn the mittens inside out and enjoy the warmth of the end result!

Sewing instructions and pattern for mittens

1. Cut the pieces according to the measurements.

2. Sew 3 cm turns to the top and bottom edges of the cuff.

3. Sew the long side of the cuff with right sides together.

4. Seam the long side of the hourglass-shaped piece and turn right side out.

5. Finally, sew
the piece that will go around the palm around the wrist. The short, unsewn side of the piece that will go around the palm is aligned with the edge of the turn. This way, the piece that will go around the palm turns slightly upwards and fits naturally around the hand.

6. Stitch the seam allowance on the long side of the mitten back. Note that the seam of the mitten is placed on the side of the small rib. You're done! Enjoy the warmth provided by the mittens!
