Here are some answers to the questions that we often get. Many things tell about Ommellinen’s way of doing things and because we aim to be as transparent as possible, we are happy to tell about these things. Please be in contact with us, if you have any questions.

We cut, sew, iron and photograph all our garments in our own production facilities in Kinkomaa. Before making a new batch, we decide which prints and sizes to produce and in what quantities. Sizes M and L are often the most popular, so we produce them in larger numbers than other sizes. However, despite this, they tend to sell out the fastest. Unfortunately we cannot produce individual sizes or prints on demand, as it would disrupt our batch production process. Our products are designed and priced for efficient series production.

We have many different models in production and even more of the prints. Unfortunately, we can’t promise a new batch of something that is out of stock. We might make more of the same model in same or different prints/colors, it might take a long time before we are able to take a new batch in production or we may be very quick to do so. We aim to be smart and flexible in all our operations and that is something we take great pride in. If there is a product that surprises us with its popularity we always evaluate our possibilities in making more of it. But, we also believe that limited amounts give happiness in the form of unique clothing. 

Even though it would be so great, we cannot bend our resources to do so. Our production is built so that we make a batch of roughly 250-500 pieces at once. Our products are priced and our production is scheduled according to that. Making a single product is very different and it is not a smart way for us to operate. We have a wide range of patterns and fabrics in our selection, which allow you to make or have made (by some other seamstress) the exact product you want with the print you prefer the most. 

We don’t reserve products as we believe in fairness and equal opportunity for all our customers. Typically, we complete an entire batch at once, followed by photography, and then make the items available simultaneously on our website and in our store in Kinkomaa, near Jyväskylä. This ensures that everyone has the same chance to purchase our new products at the same time.

We can’t always promise that there will be more of the same product and that is why we don’t have that feature in our webshop. You can always send us a message and ask if we are planning on making a new batch. We are happy to answer, even though we ourselves don’t always know what the future holds for us!

We have a size chart in each product that shows the measurements of the actual clothes. You can compare these measurements to the measurements of some of your favorite clothing. We believe that this way you get close to your own size and your preferences. We all have our own preferences - some of us like clothes with more relaxed measurements, some of us like more fitting style. Our bodies are also different and they all are beautiful and deserve only the best, so the most important thing for us is that you find clothes that make you feel good, when wearing them.

The basis for Ommellinen’s clothing design is in comfort and practicality for everyday life. We strive to create clothing styles keeping different situations and wearers in mind. We believe that the best clothing is the kind that you hardly notice when wearing it. This means that it fits well in the right places and stays in its place without constant adjustments. 

We are confident that our collection offers something for everyone. To ensure the best fit, we encourage you to carefully check the size chart and product details before making a purchase. In this way you can make an informed decision and find the perfect piece for yourself. Our clothing is often available in sizes ranging from XS to XXXL. 

We truly appreciate your feedback and continuously work to develop our collection based on our customer feedback. However, it's important to note that a single design change affects the entire clothing series, which is why certain modifications, such as altering the neckline shape, cannot be made for individual production batches. 

We aim to show our clothes on different body types as much as possible. Typically, our photo shoots take place during the workday and those are our colleagues in the pictures. In addition to our own staff, you can see our friends and family in the pictures too. It is meaningful that the people in the pictures are people who have a special relationship with our brand and the clothes. We have so much fun whenever we have a photo shoot and we hope that comes across in our photos.

Ideas often emerge in the midst of work, and we are constantly seeking new details. We draw inspiration from our previous designs, refining and improving them even further. Every new model undergoes grading tests and is integrated into everyday use. This way, we gain first-hand experience of the garment and have time to make adjustments before producing a larger batch.

Shipping costs within Finland range from €5.50 to €6.50. Orders over €150 qualify for free shipping within Finland (excluding home delivery, which costs €10). Shipping fees to Europe range from €10 to €20. Customers also have the option to pick up their order from Ommellinen’s store in Kinkomaa. 

Shipping fees cover multiple costs such as packaging, handling and postage. For a small business, these fees represent a significant expense. That’s why we have never offered 'free shipping' campaigns. 

We also want our customers to be aware that postal services in Finland employ a large number of people, and the logistics behind shipping have real costs. Many companies include shipping fees in product prices, but we believe that isn’t fair; why should the shipping cost be included in the price of an item if you pick it up in-store, or try it on at an event?
