Design Pylsy is a Finnish company embracing Finnish creativity, uncompromising quality and love for Nordic nature. We have been able to enjoy the designs by Anu already for 36 years. This year, the story of Design Pylsy will come to an end as Anu takes a well-deserved retirement. With Anu's decision to retire, we at Ommellinen had the great honor of continuing the story of Design Pylsy.

Design Pylsy was born from Anu's passion for design and craftsmanship. She dreamed of a creative career from earluy age, and decided to make her dream come true by establishing her own design studio. Anu is inspired by Finnish nature, culture and traditions, and these elements have played a central role in the company's journey.

Design Pylsy products reflect the traditions of Finnish design and modern elegance. They combine the clarity of Nordic minimalism with colours and shapes inspired by nature. Design Pylsy is known for its interior design products, accessories and clothing for women.

 

Collaboration with Ommellinen

This spring, Anu contacted us and asked if we would be interested in continuing her life's work. Anu hoped that the 'Pohjolan hirvi' (Nordic Elk) collection would continue in equally loving and gentle hands. We accepted the collaboration proposal with joy and gratitude! The collection allowed us to explore new materials and new, wonderful clothing designs. In addition to the 'Pohjolan hirvi' collection, several linen garments designed by Anu were able to continue their story at Ommellinen, too.

 

Unique Nordic Elk collection

The pattern of the Nordic Elk collection was inspired by Finnish rock paintings. The restyled rock painting has been drawn on the canvas so large that the pattern is only visible as graphic lines. Since the Nordic Elk design is almost three meters high, each garment is unique, with the pattern always applied to the garment in a different way. The Nordic Elk collection includes a dress, jumpsuit, a shirt and trousers.

 

Nordic Elk jumpsuit

The jumpsuit from the Nordic Elk -collection is particularly beautiful and impressive. The jumpsuit comes with a separate belt, pockets and wide legs, which add to a festive feel. The pretty slits in the sleeves are not only a beautiful detail, they also bring mobility to the upper part . The Pohjolan hirvi overalls are suitable for a party and equally for summer streets with sneakers. This could be the perfect outfit choice for a fresh graduate this spring!

 

Nordic Elk trousers and shirt

If you want a more versatile but unified outfit than overalls, the Pohjolan hirvi trousers and shirt are your choice. The shirt goes beautifully with jeans too, and looks stylish under a jacket. The slits in the sleeves of the shirt increase your freedom of movement. The shirt has an elastic band at the hem, which makes it easy to adjust the fit. The elastic waistband of the trousers is only at the back, which makes the front clear, neat and fitted. Quality and domestic manufacturing

Just like at Design Pylsy, at Ommellinen our starting points are local craftmanship, quality and sustainability, in everything that we do. We want to ensure that every product is carefully designed and manufactured to meet our customers' expectations for quality.

The Nordic Elk clothing are sewn from high-quality, lightweight cotton satin. The pattern is printed in Aitoo, and the clothes are still sewn in the same sewing workshop in Tampere as they originally were. We are honored that through this collaboration we will be able to employ more textile experts in Finland.
